How Colour-Changing Swim Shorts Work

Three steps

Start cool

Cool, each pair shows its first colour: purple, blue or orange, or green on Geometric.
Splash it or warm it up

A splash of water, sunshine or a warm shower brings out the second colour, instantly, right where it lands. Purple turns blue, blue turns green, green turns mint and orange turns yellow.
Cool off and do it again

Dive into a cool pool or the ocean and the first colour comes back. Warm up again and it shifts all over again.

On a sunny day it's even better. Warmth rarely lands evenly, so you'll often catch both colours at once.

Try the splash test. Pour a glass of water over them and watch the colour change right where it lands.
Go for contrast. The bigger the temperature difference, the bigger the change. Soak up the sun, then dive into the ocean or a cool pool.
Save it for a sunny day. Warm sun brings out the second colour, and a cool dip brings the first one back.
Play "dunk and check". Kids love it. You have been warned.

Care

The switch comes from a thermochromic (heat-reactive) pigment. Look after it and it'll keep changing, swim after swim.

Rinse after every swim
A quick rinse in cool fresh water, straight after the pool or the beach.
Dry in the shade
Hang them out of direct sun to dry.
Keep washes cool
Skip hot washes. Heat wears out the colour change over time.
No dryer, no iron
Air-dry only, and keep the iron well away.
